Sightseeing

The Sternbräu Gourmet World is located in the Getreidegasse Street, in the heart of Salzburg’s Old Town, which became a World Heritage Site in 1997. Salzburg, “the town of Amadeus Mozart”, is unique with its breath taking flair and tremendous location. The cityscape is dominated by churches, old bourgeois houses and splendid buildings

In a couple of minutes from the Sternbräu one can reach many sights such as: the Fortress Hohensalzburg, Mozart’s Birthplace, the Bishop’s Residence with its splendid State rooms, the Mirabell Palace and Gardens and the Zwergerlgarten (Dwarfs Garden) and Mozart’s Residence. And a must for all visitors to Salzburg is the nearby Cathedral with the famous Squares: Domplatz, Residenzplatz and Kapitelplatz, on which the annual traditional Christmas Market takes place.

Salzburg is famous for the largest musical festival in the world – the “Salzburger Festspiele”, during these weeks the city becomes the centre of the classical musical world. The festival area with its 3 halls – the larger & smaller Festival Halls and the Felsenreitschule (Old Riding School in the rock-face) is just a few metres away from the Sternbräu.

Apart from the music festival Salzburg has many other cultural events to offer its guests: the Salzburg Mozart Weeks, the Easter and Whitsun Festivals, Jazz-Autumn and the famous Salzburg Musical Advent.

To the south of the city of Salzburg are the famous Hellbrunn Palace and Water Gardens with Trick Fountains and the zoo.
